Have you ever thought how the condition
of the traffic in Yogyakarta is? Is it comfortable or crowded? I think most of
the people feels that there is a traffic jam in Yogyakarta recently, so do I. Owing
to the jam, polution can be found everywhere. Indeed I wish there weren’t. When
we will go to some places such as school, office, market, etc, we need long
time to reach there. It is caused by a traffic jam. There are some reasons for
it.
First, most of the roads are so narrow enough for vehicles that they have to run slowly, it’s difficult to precede each others so it becomes crowded and noisy. It often makes impatience of the driver because they won’t come late to reach their place. Bring the emotion up, and the drivers become individualist. Whereas I wish people cared surround and the others.
Second, Yogyakarta is a city of education. A lot of people from other city study here and use their own motorcycles. It can add the number of motorcycles in Yogyakarta. They make them become the king of the roads. Not only a city of education, Yogyakarta is also a city of tourism. Of course it is visited by many people all over the world both of domestic and foreign tourists. Especially for the domestic tourist, they drive their own car and for the foreign one, they rent cars to drive from one place to others. Certainly it can add a number of vehicles in Yogyakarta that can make the roads become crowded, and again it can cause traffic jam.
Finally most of the people in Yogyakarta haven’t obeyed the traffic regulation yet. They usually drive their vehicles carelessly. They often run straight when the traffic light is red. Sure it can annoy other drivers from against directions. Due to their carelessness, it has bad effect for others. It often causes traffic jam in the crossroad or intersection and it even becomes accident. Furthermore some driver don’t have driving licence. They don’t care it.
From the reason above, the government should add the traffic sign in any places and strongthen the traffic rules. And I order the police to give a punishment to the driver that doesn’t obey the rules. They may not make any distinction including one who doesn’t have driving licence. In adition, it should be important to make a road with one direction of traffic lane. I think there is a chance to make Yogyakarta pleasant. All of the people let the rules resoluted.
